Okay so... I had never tried any dessert with beans before. The black beans in a brownie made me freak out a little. But sometimes you just have to give it a try. Being scared of something does not get you to do anything
So I tried a black bean brownie recipe, I found it on My Little Celebration. (click on the link to get her recipe). It ended up being totally delicious! I had a lot of fun not telling about the whole bean thing to my boyfriend. When he arrived home I simply told him I had made some brownies. I also told him he had to guess a secret ingredient. Turns out he never found out what it was, so I decided to tell him. He still had a second serving ;)
So black bean brownies are totally delicious, for all of you who were not sure about the whole bean dessert thing.

How did it turn out? Was it like a normal brownie--moist, gooey, rich and chocolatey? Any aftertastes?
ReplyDeleteNo aftertaste at all, it is a very moist, gooey brownie! I loved it ! you have to give it a try, believe me you won't regret it !
DeleteI use to be a sneaky, sneaky girl and always feed people black bean brownies at potlucks and not tell people until after they had eaten them & raved about how good they were that the brownies were not only vegan but contained a ton of beans.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I have made a version of black bean cupcake once and they were really good. I'll try this recipe out too and see if my daughter will notice. :)
ReplyDeleteMmm! These brownies look fantastic! So gooey and moist. I've never tried a black bean brownie before. I'll have to make some soon.
ReplyDeleteYou measuring spoons are the CUTEST.
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks sooooo good--I am ready for dessert now! :D I've heard about black bean brownies before, but I have yet to try them myself.
